Procedural steps not to open the black box
Three-part installation divided in three sets of procedural steps intended to prevent the opening of the AI blackbox. "Option 1" is an algorithm aimed to subvert canonical definitions of randomness. "Option 2" is a spell to soften a ghostly landscape. “Option 3”, depicted in the third image, consists of a trivial ritual to transform a photograph into continuous orthogonal lines. I input the photograph into an edgedetection and a pixelation algorithm subsequently. These two steps fail. I burn the printed code as part of the ritual. I then find a marching squares program that draws connecting lines across pixels. I print the resulting pattern as a digital negative that I use to expose cyanotype paper. While this process pauses here, it could go on forever.
